A twenty six year old St. Thomas woman wanted on a bench warrant was arrested yesterday morning around 7:30 am on Talbot Street. The warrant was issued after the woman failed to appear at her scheduled court date to answer to charges of Theft Under $5000 and two counts of Breach of Release Conditions. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Elgin County Court House.
A thirty one year old London man wanted on a warrant by STPS was arrested yesterday morning around 9:30 am at the Elgin County Court House. The warrant was issued after an incident back in April where the man was arrested for Impaired Operation. The vehicle he had been driving was later reported stolen by the owner. As a result he was wanted for one count of Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000. The man was at the Court House for his appearance on the other matter when he was taken into custody without incident. He was later released by the courts.
A twenty seven year old St. Thomas woman wanted on a warrant was arrested on Balaclava Street yesterday around the noon hour. Officers observed the woman walking down the street and recognized her as wanted. The warrant was issued after the woman failed to attend the Colin McGregor Justice Building for fingerprints after being charged with Theft Under $5000. She was later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
St. Thomas Police are investigating after two wire thefts were reported Tuesday morning. Aluminum wire was cut and stolen from the construction site on the west side of the CASO Station sometime overnight monday. Refer to Case #ST19008244. The same night someone broke into the locked transformer box behind the public library and stole some copper wire. Refer to Case #ST19008254. A bicycle was reported stolen from the side yard of a residence on Fairview Avenue near Chestnut Street. The bike went missing sometime between Saturday June 8th and Tuesday June 11th. The bike is described as a Supercycle Nitrous mountain bike, black with red trim.
