Warrant

A thirty nine year old St. Thomas woman was arrested by court security at the Elgin County Courthouse Tuesday.  The woman attended the location on an unrelated matter when staff discovered she was wanted on a warrant.  The bench warrant was issued after she failed to attend her scheduled court date to answer to assault charges.  She was taken into custody without incident for processing and later released on an Undertaking with court date. ^9453

Theft

Police are investigating after a male was recorded on security video shoplifting tools from Walmart last Thursday.  The male is described as wearing a white shirt with collar, shorts, sandals and a grey hat.  If you have any information about this theft please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or www.stthomascrimestoppers.ca Refer to case #ST22009482

Breach

A twenty seven year old St. Thomas man was arrested Tuesday night after he was alleged to have breached his release conditions by communicating with a male he is currently prohibited from.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin  McGregor Building for processing. He was charged with one count Fail to Comply with Release Order and later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^9484

Recovered Stolen Vehicle

A U-Haul econoline van reported stolen from London was located abandoned in the parking lot of the Elgin Centre on Wellington Street Tuesday.  The van may have been left abandoned at the parking lot sometime over the weekend.  Police continue to investigate. Vehicle Entry

Several vehicles were entered in the area of Barwick and Hill Streets Tuesday night.  Gift cards were reported stolen from one of the vehicles.  Please remember to lock your vehicles and take valuables inside. ^9489

Warrant

A thirty four year old St. Thomas woman wanted on a bench warrant by Barrie Police was arrested Tuesday night in St. Thomas.  Officers on Community Patrol were dealing with the woman on an unrelated matter when they discovered she was wanted.  She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Building.  During processing police located suspected stolen credit cards.  The cards were seized and the woman was charged additionally with two counts of Breach of Release for possessing credit cards not in her name contrary to her release order.  She was later released on an Appearance Notice for court. ^9490

Breach

Nineteen year old Nicolas Derbowka was arrested early Wednesday morning around 2:30 am.  Officers on Community Patrol observed him breaching his release conditions by ignoring a nightly curfew.  Police took him into custody without incident and transported him to the Colin McGregor Building for processing.  He was charged with Breach of Release and held for a morning bail court hearing. ^ 9494
