A twenty seven year old Belmont man wanted on a warrant was arrested Thursday morning after he turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Justice Building. The bench warrant was issued after the man failed to attend court to answer to impaired driving charges that date back to 2018. He was taken into custody without incident for processing and later released on an Undertaking with court date.
A twenty nine year old St. Thomas man was arrested Thursday afternoon at the Colin McGregor Justice Building after he was alleged to have breached his court ordered release conditions. During processing Officers seized 3.8 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine with a street value of $380. The man was charged with Drug Possession and two counts Breach of Release Conditions. He was held in custody for a court appearance.
Thirty three year old Frances Forsyth of St. Thomas is wanted by police after she was identified as the suspect recorded on store security video shoplifting. The theft occurred at a downtown store on Talbot Street Wednesday afternoon. A warrant for Theft Under $5000 and Breach of Release Conditions is being sought.
A forty five year old St. Thomas man was arrested and charged with impaired driving Thursday evening during a traffic stop on Elm Street. The man was stopped after police received a traffic complaint regarding the manner in which the man was driving his motorcycle. The man failed a roadside screening device and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where further samples indicated the man had over the legal limit of alcohol in his system. He was charged with one count Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. He was later released on an Appearance Notice for court. The motorcycle was impounded for seven days.
Two fifteen year old youths are wanted by police for charges of Assault Causing Bodily Harm following an attack in a park Thursday night. A fourteen year old suffered injuries requiring medical attention.
