A vehicle parked in the lane way of a home on East Street was entered sometime over the past two nights. Nothing was reported stolen however the interior had been rummaged through. Please remember to lock your vehicle and take valuables inside.
A St. Thomas woman was arrested Wednesday morning by Court Security at the Elgin County Courthouse. The woman had attended the location on an unrelated matter when security recognized her as being wanted on a bench warrant. The warrant was issued after the woman was alleged to have failed to attend her scheduled court date. Thirty year old Jasmine Brown was take into custody without incident and later released on an Undertaking with court date.
A twenty eight year old female was arrested on St. Catharines Street Wednesday afternoon after officers on Community Patrol observed her yelling at a man. Officers recognized the woman as being currently at large in the community released by the courts on conditions not to associate or communicate with the man. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where she was held for a court appearance.
A St. Thomas man was arrested Wednesday night around 10 pm on Scott Street. Officers on Community Patrol observed the man and recognized him as being wanted on a warrant. The warrant was issued after the man was identified as the suspect recorded on security video attempting to cash a stolen cheque. Twenty eight year old Tanner Lindsay was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building. He was charged with Utter Forged Document and Possession of Stolen Property. He was later released on an Undertaking with court date.
A thirty three year old St. Thomas man was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences Wednesday night around 9 pm. Police responded to calls of a vehicle stuck in a snowbank after the driver misjudged a turn onto Caldwell from Fairview Ave. The driver was identified and located a short distance away. He was taken into custody and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where breath samples taken indicated the man had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. He was charged with Impaired Operation and Operation with Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus and later released on an Appearance Notice for court.
