Theft

Police are investigating after mail was stolen from the mailbox located outside of the St. Thomas Anglican Church on Flora street near Talbot early Tuesday morning.  Security video indicates a suspect pried open the wooden mailbox between 4 -5 am.  Some envelopes were taken and the suspect left the area.  Suspect photo will be released once obtained.  In the meantime, if you have any information about this theft or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS Refer to Case #ST21000640

Warrant

A twenty seven year old man formerly of St. Thomas was arrested in London by London Police Tuesday night around 8 pm.  London Officers were dealing with the man on an unrelated matter when they discovered he was wanted by the St. Thomas Police Service.  The warrant was issued after police were called to a disturbance that escalated to assault back in November 2019.  The man who was identified as the suspect had already fled the scene prior to police arrival.  Steven Guzman was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing where he was held for a court appearance.  He is now charged with Assault x2, Breach of Release Conditions x2 and Drive While Suspended x2.

Warrant

A forty year old Elgin County man wanted on a warrant was arrested by the Elgin County OPP Tuesday evening around 8 pm.  Officers were dealing with the man on an unrelated matter when they discovered he was wanted.  The warrant was issued when the man was charged with breaching his release conditions after he failed to attend the Colin McGregor Justice Building to provide a DNA sample to the forensic identification unit as ordered by the court.  Shawn Ralph was taken into custody without incident and later released on an Appearance Notice for court.

Mischief

A vehicle parked on St. Anne’s Place near Metcalfe Street was damaged Tuesday afternoon between 4-5 pm.  The vehicle owner went outside after hearing a noise and discovered the rear passenger tire had been slashed.  If you have any information about this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS Refer to Case #ST21000669

Warrant

A St. Thomas man was arrested early Wednesday morning around 3 am on Princess Avenue.  Officers on Community Patrol observed the man and recognized him as being wanted on a probation warrant.  The warrant was issued after the man was alleged to have breached his court ordered release conditions.  Forty five year old David Parsons was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing.  He was charged with one count Breach of Probation and later released on an Appearance Notice for court.
