Theft/Vehicle Entries/Break and Enter/Breach/ Prohibited Driver

Theft

Police took a report of a stolen bicycle, which was stolen from a bicycle rack at the front of Wal-Mart on July 23rd.  While reviewing security footage, the investigating officer recognized the suspect as a 41 year old Kerri Webber of St. Thomas.  On July 24th Webber was located walking again in the Wal-Mart parking lot and was arrested without incident.  Webber was charged with one count of Theft Under $5000 and released on and Undertaking with a future court date.

 

Theft

Police took a report of a stolen e-bike from the front of the Circle-K located at 287 Talbot Street on July 24th.  The e-bike was left unattended and unlocked while the owner was making a purchase in the store.  The stolen e-bike is a black Daymak Wild Goose with large ‘FAT Maxxis’ tires. Vehicle Entries

A vehicle parked on Ross Street was entered on Thursday July 18th.  A wallet was stolen containing several pieces of identification.

A vehicle parked on Chestnut Street was entered Friday night.  Sunglasses, prescription medication and some loose change were reported stolen.

Please remember to lock your vehicle and take valuables inside.

 

Break and Enter

Police are investigating after a residence was broken into on Maple Street sometime on Friday night.  The residence is currently under renovation and the unknown suspect(s) gained entry through a plywood window covering. Thieves stole seven packages of Elite brand cigarettes. Breach of Release Conditions

Police responded to a 911 call of a male walking along First Avenue holding a large knife.  Officers located a 31 year old male from St. Thomas in possession of a 6” homemade knife. Investigation revealed that the male was at large on a release order with a condition not to possess weapons.  The male was arrested without incident and charged with failure to comply with Release Order contrary to section 145(5)(a) Criminal Code and released on an Undertaking with a future court date.

 

Prohibited Driver

Police have charged a 42 year old male from Brampton with one count of Operation While Prohibited contrary to section 320.18(1) of the Criminal Code and one count of Drive While Under Suspension contrary to Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act following a traffic stop on Talbot Street Sunday morning around 2 am.  The male had been prohibited following an Impaired Driving charge.  The vehicle was impounded for seven days and the male will appear in court to answer to the charge at a later date.
