The St. Thomas Police Service has once again surpassed last years number of incidents half way through the year

This is the third year in a row the Service has recorded an increase in incidents reported to police.
A red Schwinn Meridian adult comfort tricycle was reported stolen from a garage behind 330 Talbot Street sometime Sunday night. The tricycle was locked with a chain inside the garage at the time of the theft. Twenty four year old Phillip Zellman of St. Thomas is wanted by police after an incident recorded on home security video last week. Video recorded Zellman attending the residence of an acquaintance around 2 am. The suspect who is known to the homeowner broke into the shed, took a portable barbecue and then threatened the residents. As a result he is wanted for Theft Under $5000, Trespass by Night and Utter Threats to Cause Death.
Second Arrest Made in Assault Investigation
A forty two year old St. Thomas woman wanted in connection to an early morning assault on Alma Street Monday morning was arrested later that evening around 6 pm on Talbot Street. Officers on community patrol observed the woman and recognized her as being wanted. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where she was held for a court appearance.
Missing Metal Grates
Police are investigating after several metal grates were reported missing along Talbot Street. The grates are placed at ground level along the sidewalks around the shade trees.
