St. Thomas Police Service media release for Saturday October 17th, 2020

On the 16th day of October 2020 just before noon a Mountain bike was stolen from a recreational facility.  The bike is a STP Giant dirt jumper, blue and black in color.   Anyone with information is asked to contact STPS and refer to incident # ST20017756

St. Thomas Police Service continue receive several complaints relating to theft of marihuana plants from backyards.  On the 16th of October 2020 police received a complaint regarding the theft of two marihuana plants from a south end residence.  Anyone with information regarding these crimes are asked to contact St. Thomas Police Service.  Attached is video of the people responsible.

On the 16th day of October 2020 just before 11 PM a 53 year old St. Thomas man attend at the St. Thomas Police Headquarters to make a police report.  While officers were interacting with the male it was discovered he had been drinking and consuming illicit drugs.  Further investigation revealed the male was impaired and had driven to the police station.  The male was taken into custody without incident where he conducted several tests before a Drug Recognition Expert.  The male failed the testing and was subsequently charge with operating a conveyance while his ability was impaired.  He was later released from custody on a future court date.


On October 14, 2020 the St. Thomas Police received a report of  a stolen vehicle.  It was last seen at approx 7:30pm on October 13, 2020 at a residence on Elgin St. The vehicle is a 1987 Dodge Dakota with license plate 5H3025 (Historical).  We now have pictures of a suspect from the theft.  If you have any information regarding this stolen vehicle please contact the St. Thomas Police at 519-631-1224 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
