On Tuesday January 2nd, 2018 just before 10pm an off-duty police officer noticed a male riding his bike in a quiet West-end neighbourhood trying door handles of parked cars. The off-duty officer approached the male and attempted to call 911, when the male took a swing at the officer. A short scuffle ensued and the male was able to escape, leaving behind his jacket and shirt, running away bare skinned from the waist up.
The St. Thomas Police K-9 was called out in an attempt to locate the male, however after a long track the scent was lost. However, as part of that track, police learned that the male did receive a jacket from an address on Sunset Drive after reporting his was stolen from him. As such, the St. Thomas Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this male- described as 5’6, small build, receding hair line, a mustache and a tattoo on his chest.
