September 22nd:

ADULT MALE ARRESTED FOR BREACH
At 10:27 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009, St. Thomas Police arrested a 23 year old St. Thomas male for breaching the terms of his Recognizance release order by failing to abide by a curfew.  The accused was held in custody overnight at police headquarters awaiting a Tuesday, September 22, 2009 court appearance.

HIT AND RUN MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION
On Monday, September 21, 2009, St. Thomas Police attended a Pol Court residence to investigate a hit and run motor vehicle collision.  Police report sometime between 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2009 and 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2009, a 2008 Dodge was struck while parked on the roadway in front of a Pol Court residence.  The driver of the hit and run vehicle left the scene without reporting the incident. Police are continuing to investigate the occurrence.

September 21st:

YOUTH ARRESTED FOR BREACH
At 9:12 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009, St. Thomas Police arrested and charged a 17 year old St. Thomas youth with one (1) count of breaching the terms of a Recognizance release order by failing to abide by a curfew and two (2) counts of breaching the terms of a probation order by failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.  The youth was held overnight at police headquarters awaiting a Monday, September 21, 2009 court appearance.

ADULT MALE ARRESTED ON WARRANT
On Sunday, September 20, 2009, St. Thomas Police arrested a 19 year old St. Thomas male on an outstanding warrant for failing to sign into police headquarters, as per the terms of his probation order.  The accused was held in custody overnight at police headquarters awaiting a Monday, September 21, 2009 court appearance.

 

September 20th:

MISCHIEF TO PROPERTY
St. Thomas Police are investigating an act of mischief that took place at 330 Talbot Street. Sometime during the early morning hours of September 19, 2009, somebody entered the laundry room located in the basement of the building and discharged a fire extinguisher in the hallway. Cst. Bell is investigating.

September 19th:

DRUG SEARCH WARRANT EXECUTED
On Friday, September 18, 2009, members of the St. Thomas Drug Enforcement Unit attended a St. George Street residence to execute a CDSA Search Warrant. As a result of the investigation, a 36 year old St. Thomas man faces numerous drug related charges including: Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. As well, the accused also faces a weapons charge, as the accused was in possession of an electronic stun device. The man was remanded into custody.

IMPAIRED DRIVER
On Friday, September 18, 2009, in the evening, a 28 year old man was stopped on Talbot Street for a Highway Traffic Act violation. When the officer was speaking to the man, the officer could detect an odour of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. The man subsequently failed a roadside screening device test and was arrested. The man was then transported to the police station where he provided two (2) breath samples that were found to be in excess of the legal limit by 1.5 times. The man is to appear in court at a later date.

BREACH OF PROBATION
On Friday, September 18, 2009 in the afternoon, police observed a male and a female who were breaching a probation order by being together.  A 32 year old St. Thomas man was arrested and charged for Breach of Probation while the 25 year old female was arrested and charged with being a Party to the Offence.

 

September 18th:

MALE ARRESTED ON A WARRANT
At 3:04 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009, St. Thomas Police arrested a 29 year old St. Thomas male on an outstanding warrant for breaching the terms of a probation order.  The accused was held in custody overnight at police headquarters awaiting a Friday, September 18, 2009 court appearance.

MISCHIEF - GRAFFITI
On Thursday, September 17, 2009, St. Thomas Police attended a Talbot Street business regarding a mischief. Police report sometime between 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2009 and 8:00 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009, culprits spray painted symbols on the front premises.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

BREAK, ENTER & THEFT
St. Thomas Police report sometime between 12:00 p.m. and 12:40 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009, culprits broke into a Joyce Street residence.  Owners of the residence reported a small amount of money and two cameras stolen from the residence.  Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

September 17th:

DRUGS SEIZED
At 8:27 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2009, St. Thomas Police attended a North end residence to investigate a possible break and enter in progress.  While conducting a search of the residence, officers located six (6) marihuana plants growing in the basement portion of the premises.  Police seized the drugs and charged both residents, a 51 year old female and a 47 year old male, with Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Both of the accused people were released on conditions that included a future court date.  The estimated value of the drugs is $300.  The reported break and enter call was unfounded.

MALE ARRESTED FOR BREACHING CONDITIONS OF RELEASE
At 3:20 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2009, St. Thomas Police arrested a 34 year old male St. Thomas resident for breaching the terms of a previous release order.  The accused was held in custody overnight at police headquarters awaiting a September 17, 2009 court appearance.

STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED
On Wednesday, September 16, 2009, St. Thomas Police recovered the golf cart stolen from a North end recreational park earlier that date.  Police continue to investigate the incident.

September 16th:

BREAK, ENTER & THEFT
On Tuesday, September 15, 2009, St. Thomas Police attended a city owned North end recreational park to investigate a theft.  Police report sometime between 3:00 p.m., September 14, 2009 and 8:15 a.m., September 15, 2009, culprits broke into a tool shed and office trailer situated on the premises. Culprits rummaged through both units, stealing a quantity of tools and a gas powered golf cart.  Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED
St. Thomas Police report shortly before 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2009, a 44 year old female was apprehended by store security shoplifting at a Talbot Street retail outlet. The accused was later released by police on conditions that included a future court date.
   

REPORTED WEAPONS OFFENCE
At 1:16 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2009, St. Thomas Police received a 9-1-1 call from a concerned citizen advising an adult male in possession of a handgun was en route to a Talbot Street business with the intention of harming himself inside the premises.  Several police officers converged on the business, however, the suspect failed to show.  Within minutes, officers, acting on information regarding the suspect and suspect vehicle, conducted a high risk traffic stop in the parking lot of a South Edgeware Road complex.  A 27 year old St. Thomas male and a 25 year old St. Thomas male were taken into police custody.  While searching the suspect vehicle, police located and seized a small quantity of drugs.  There were no weapons located on the suspect or in the suspect vehicle.  Police continue to investigate the incident.

 

September 15th:

MISCHIEF - GRAFFITI
St. Thomas Police report sometime between 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009 and 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 14, 2009, culprits spray painted graffiti on a vehicle parked in the parking lot of a Talbot Street business.  Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

FEMALE ARRESTED
On Monday, September 14, 2009, St. Thomas Police arrested and charged a 37 year old St. Thomas female with Uttering a Forged Document and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.  The arrest follows a theft investigation that commenced in the South end of the city June 27, 2009.
The accused was held in custody overnight at St. Thomas Police Headquarters, awaiting a September 15, 2009 court appearance.

SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED
On Monday, September 14, 2009, St. Thomas Police attended a First Avenue retail store regarding a theft.  Police report shortly before 5:00 p.m., store security apprehended a 48 year old male shoplifter.  The accused was later released on conditions that included a future court date.   

 

September 14th:

MISCHIEF - GRAFFITI
St. Thomas Police report the St. Thomas Curling Club was tagged with mischief by way of gold spray paint by unknown suspects.  The word “CREEPE” was painted.

BREACH OF COURT ORDER
A St. Thomas male is charged for Breach of a Court Order, after he contacted a female by way of telephone.  He was prohibited to communicate with this female from a previous charge involving Domestic Assault.  The male was lodged in cells where he will appear in court this day.

 

September 13th:

IMPAIRED DRIVER REFUSES TO PROVIDE BREATH SAMPLE
On Sunday, September 13, 2009 just after 2:00 a.m., police initiated a traffic stop on Talbot Street.  The 38 year old female driver was given a roadside screening test which she failed.  The driver was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.  She was brought to the station for further breath testing where she refused to provide a breath sample.  The female’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and she now faces criminal charges of refusing the Intoxilyzer.  She was later released with a future court date.

 

September 11th:

FEMALE ARRESTED ON WARRANT
On Thursday, September 10, 2009, a 38 year old St. Thomas female was arrested on an outstanding warrant for breaching the terms of a previously issued probation order.  The accused was held in custody overnight at police headquarters awaiting a September 11, 2009 court appearance.

SHOPLIFTER ARRESTED
At 2:14 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2009, St. Thomas Police attended a Talbot Street retail store regarding a theft. Police report shortly before 2:00 p.m., store security apprehended a 23 year old St. Thomas female for shoplifting. A police check of the accused revealed she was also on a previously issued probation order.  The accused was charged with Theft Under $5,000 and Breach of Probation.  She was held in custody overnight at police headquarters awaiting a September 11, 2009 court appearance. 

MALE FOUND IN POSSESSION OF DRUGS
On Thursday, September 10, 2009, St. Thomas Police arrested a 21 year old St. Thomas male on an outstanding warrant for breaching the terms of a previously issued probation order.
While searching the accused, 31.1 grams of marihuana were found in his pant pocket.  The accused was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation.
The accused was held in custody overnight at police headquarters awaiting a September 11, 2009 court appearance.

THEFT OF PICKUP TRUCK
At 11:48 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2009, St. Thomas Police attended a Wellington Street retail mall to investigate a theft.  Police report sometime between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., a 2000 Dodge Pickup Truck, Ontario licence number 530-0VY, was stolen from parking lot of the premises.  Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
