Fire investigation

Shortly after 7:30AM Thursday August 2, 2012 St Thomas Police attended at 16 Celestine Street regarding a structure fire. Investigation of the incident resulted in police arresting a 40 year old male for Arson. The male is currently at the Regional Mental Health Centre for assessment. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending. Fire damage confined to one apartment unit was estimated to be around $ 60.000.00.

Female arrested

On Thursday August 2, 2012 an 18 year old female turned herself in at police headquarters on an outstanding warrant for escaping lawful custody. The arrest is related to a disturbance that occurred at a North end apartment on Wednesday August 1, 2012. The accused was released on conditions that included a future court date.

Drunks arrested

Within a six hour period Thursday evening August 2 - Friday morning August 3 St Thomas Police arrested and charged three (3) drunks for being intoxicated on city street(s). All were held at police headquarters until sober.
