As a result of an ongoing two (2) year investigation, St. Thomas Police has charged Dona Hugh OUELLETTE a 42 year old resident of St Thomas with numerous Criminal offences, which include theft over $5,000,Fraud Over $5,000 and Failing to Comply with Recognizance. The investigation began after police learned that OUELLETTE was asking people to invest in a company known as Abgar Biodegrabable Inc. and Abgar Compostable Inc. It is alleged that funds received by OUELLETTE for the business were never used for investment purposes. OUELLETTE is currently charged with similar crimes in the Niagara Region and was released on court orders not to seek business investors at the time the St. Thomas offences occurred. It is alleged that OUELLETTE took nearly $600,000 for false investments over the last 2 years. A total of 31 charges were laid. OUELLETTE had a court appearance on the 15th of June 2012 and is currently in custody.

Motorcycle driver injured
On Thursday June 14, 2012 St Thomas Police attended the field area just North of Bodkin Drive regarding an injured motorcyclist. Police say a 17 year old female lost control of a small motorcycle striking a metal guard rail. She was transported by ambulance to St Thomas Elgin General Hospital where she was treated for a leg injury.
Man charged with multiple offences
Shortly after 10:00PM Thursday June 14, 2012 St Thomas Police arrested a 28 year old male for stealing equipment from a North end industrial plant. The equipment was later sold to a recycling plant in London Ontario. The accused has been charged with (2) counts of theft over $ 5000 and (2) counts of possession of property obtained by crime. He was released on conditions that included a future court date.
