Break and enter investigated
Sometime between May 10th and May 20th 2012 a break and enter occurred at Manitoba Street apartment. Four tires were reported stolen from the premises. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St Thomas Police Service at 519-631-1364 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Cyclist injured
On Sunday June 3, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a motor vehicle collision on Talbot Street at Fairview Avenue. Police say at around 10:45AM an 11 year old boy was struck by a Westbound vehicle as he rode his bicycle across Talbot Street against the red traffic signal. He was transported by ambulance to St Thomas General Hospital as a precautionary measure. The driver of the vehicle was not charged.
Impaired driver charged
St Thomas Police have charged a 27 year old male with failing to remain at the scene of an accident and impaired driving following a collision on Elmina Street early Sunday afternoon. Witnesses say the driver of a pickup truck struck a utility pole and drove off. He was located a short time later and arrested.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where he provided breath samples three (3) times the legal limit. He was later released on conditions that included a future court date.
