Man arrested for mischief and assault
On Sunday April 29, 2012 a 49 year old St Thomas man was arrested and charged for breaking a window on Manitoba Street and threatening to strike his neighbours with a cane. The accused was released on conditions which included a future court date.
Vehicle entered
Sometime during the overnight hours of Sunday April 29 2012 culprit(s) entered an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of a Margaret Street residence. An apple I phone was stolen from the vehicle. Shoplifter charged
On Sunday afternoon April 29, 2012 a 20 year old female was apprehended by store security for shoplifting at a First Avenue retail store. The accused was released by police on conditions which included a future court date.
Suspended driver charged
At 9:50PM Sunday April 29, 2012 St Thomas Police conducted a traffic stop on Scott Street. A police check on the 29 year old male driver determined his driver’s licence was suspended. The accused was issued a summons to appear in court.
"New Traffic Projects'
St Thomas Police are implementing two new traffic initiatives that commence immediately in the city.
• Police will be targeting speeding on Manitoba Street between Edward and Kains Street(s). Driver’s found in violation of the law will face stiff penalties which could include a fine or loss of driving privileges
• Police will be issuing $ 25.00 parking tickets to heavy trucks parked on Edward Street and Laing Boulevard. The paved roadway in this area cannot support heavy trucks.
