Structure fire 70 Center St

St. Thomas Police are continuing their investigation of the fire at 70 Center Street, St. Thomas.On August 31st, 2010 the deceased male was identified as Jason David Farro, age 40 from Toronto. Results of the post mortem will be forthcoming in a further release.

Break and enter

On Tuesday August 31, 2010 St Thomas Police attended a Talbot Street business, regarding a break and enter. Police report sometime between Tuesday August 24, 2010 and Tuesday August 31, 2010 entry was forced into the premises.While inside the building, culprit(s) damaged furniture, and emptied the contents of paint cans onto interior walls, and floors. Impaired driver arrested

Shortly after 10:00PM Tuesday August 31, 2010 St Thomas Police received a telephone call from a concerned citizen regarding a possible impaired driver, travelling on Sunset Drive. Within minutes, an alert St Thomas officer stopped the vehicle on Elm Street. While speaking with the female driver the officer formed an opinion her ability to drive the vehicle was impaired by alcohol. A roadside alcohol screening device was administered, which registered a “fail”. The 37 year old female was transported to police headquarters, where she provided breath samples, in excess of three times the legal limit. The accused was later released on conditions that included a future court date.
