Theft from vehicle
St Thomas Police report, shortly after 1:30 PM Monday March 8, 2010 a purse was stolen from an unlocked vehicle, parked at a Flora Street school . Police are reminding citizens to remove valuables ,and lock doors of unattended vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St Thomas Police Service at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Male arrested for assault
On Monday March 8, 2010 St Thomas Police arrested a 24 year old St Thomas male for assault. The arrest follows an investigation that commenced on Friday March 5, 2010 at a South end home. The accused was held overnight at police headquarters, awaiting a Tuesday March 9, 2010 court appearance .
BULLYING
As you are well aware bullying is everywhere. It happens at schools, it happens at work, it happens on the internet. No person deserves to be called names or physically harmed. But yet is still happens. Attempts are made daily to educate kids and adults about bullying. There are ads on TV, Internet and newspapers and magazines to stop bullying.
On Sunday March 7, 2010 after Police conducted an investigation at a local elementary school, a 13 year old female was arrested for Criminal Harassment. A 13 year old female victim had been harassed to a point where she did not even want to go to school anymore. When she did she was afraid that she would get assaulted. The victim was relieved when the weekend came knowing that she could be safe in her own home. Over time the bully would take her things and give them to other people.
The female was released from custody with a pending court appearance.
The school cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim.
