Theft suspect arrested

On Tuesday February 23, 2010, St Thomas Police attended a South end school, regarding a theft . Police report, shortly after 9:00AM a male youth was seen stealing a bicycle from the premises . An alert officer responding to the incident observed the youth riding the bicycle on Brant Avenue . A short foot chase ensued , with the youth being apprehended by police . The 16 year old St Thomas youth was charged with theft , and held overnight at police headquarters, awaiting a Wednesday February 24, 2010 court appearance .

Female arrested on outstanding warrant

St Thomas Police report, shortly after 10:00AM Tuesday February 23, 2010, a 25 year old St Thomas female, turned herself at police headquarters, on an outstanding warrant for theft. The accused was held in custody overnight at police headquarters, awaiting a Wednesday February 24, 2010 court appearance .

Credit card scam

St Thomas Police have received complaints from citizens, that have received telephone calls from parties claiming to be bank or credit union employees . The bogus caller will tell you he or she can reduce the monthly interest rate of your credit card however in order to do, they require your credit card number .Once your credit card number is given to the scammers , they can purchase items , which is then charged against your credit card account . Do not give personal , banking , or credit card information to anyone without first verifying the authenticity of the caller .
