Break and enter

On Sunday February 8, 2010 St Thomas Police attended a Hiawatha Street apartment complex, regarding a break and enter . Police report, sometime between 8:00AM and 4:00PM culprits entered an apartment unit at the premises. Two laptop computers , power tools, and electronic items were reported stolen from the residence. Police are continuing to investigate the incident . Anyone with information is asked to contact the St Thomas Police Service at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Coyotes sighted at city limits

St Thomas Police are warning citizens of coyote sightings.Shortly after 9:00AM Monday February 8, 2010, a pack of five coyotes were seen on Centennial Avenue, near Bodkin Street .Police would like to remind citizens, cats, small dogs, and children should not be left unattended, in unprotected areas .Larger animals should not be chained and left defenceless where a pack of coyotes could attack .
The Ministry of Natural Resources recommends properly securing garbage, and using motion sensitive lighting, as a means of deterring these animals .
