Break Out

Thirty seven year old Freddy Cruz-Ventura is wanted on a warrant after he broke out of a homeless drop in center on Talbot Street after closing.  He was identified as the suspect recorded on security video hiding in a storage room as employees closed for the evening last Saturday night.  He then entered several locked offices stealing items and left a short time later.  He is now wanted for Breaking Out of a Place and two counts Breach of Release Conditions.  If you know the whereabouts of Freddy Cruz-Ventura please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS Refer to  Case #ST21005060.

Stolen Bike

Indecent Act

A fifty six year old St. Thomas man was arrested Wednesday morning around 10 am on Talbot Street.  Officers took the man into custody without incident after he was identified as the suspect who was pulling his pants down exposing himself along Talbot Street.  He was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where he was charged with one count of Indecent Acts and later released on an Undertaking with court date.

Warrant

A St. Thomas man wanted on a warrant by the St. Thomas Police Service was arrested in Middlesex County by the Ontario Provincial Police Wednesday afternoon.  OPP Officers were dealing with the man on an unrelated matter when they discovered he was wanted.  The warrant was issued after the man was identified as the suspect wanted in connection to a theft and prohibited driving investigation.  Forty one year old Christopher Doxtator was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building for processing.  He was charged with Possession of Stolen Property x2, Drive While Prohibited x5, Drive While Suspended x3, Alter License Plate x2 and Use Plate Not Authorized x2.  He was later released on an Undertaking with court date.

Vehicle Entries

A vehicle parked in the laneway of a home on Pinehurst Street was entered sometime Tuesday overnight.  Several miscellaneous items (car wash tickets, stamps, phone charger, garage door opener) were reported stolen.

A second vehicle parked in a neighbouring lane way on Pinehurst Street was also entered.  The garage door opener was reported stolen.

Weapons

Police responded to several 911 calls Wednesday afternoon after a man was seen leaving an Elm Street Variety Store with a gun.  Officers located the man a short distance away and took him into custody.  During the arrest police seized a pellet gun from his waistband and a small amount of morphine.  Twenty eight year old Donald Pettie of St. Thomas was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where he was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Drug Possession and Breach of Release Conditions.  He was held for a court appearance.

Porch Pirate Arrested

A thirty three year old St. Thomas man was arrested and charged with theft in connection to a theft of Amazon deliveries from a porch.  Police were able to identify the suspect using private home security video which recorded the entire theft.  He was taken into custody without incident charged with Theft Under $5000.  He will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.

Disturbance

A thirty eight year old man is wanted by police after assaulting his estranged common law and her daughter during a family dispute Wednesday afternoon.  No injuries were sustained during the incident. The man had fled the residence prior to police arrival prompting officers to request a warrant.  He is wanted for one count of Domestic Assault and one count Assault.

Theft

Police are investigating after a purse was rummaged through in the Walmart parking lot Wednesday morning around 10 am.  A customer had forgotten to remove her purse when she returned the shopping cart she was using.  She returned minutes later to discover her purse was still in the cart however the contents including her wallet had been rummaged through.  Some cash and gift cards were reported stolen.  If you have any information about this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS Refer to Case #ST21005333

Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest

A St. Thomas man was arrested in a Talbot Street parking lot Wednesday afternoon around 1 pm.  Officers on community patrol observed the man driving down the street and recognized him as being wanted on a warrant.  He was followed into the parking lot and taken into custody without incident.  During the arrest, police seized 17 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine, 2 grams of Fentanyl, a Taser and stolen cheques traced back to two separate break and enters that happened back in February were seized from the suspect.  Thirty one year old Ryan Mugford was transported to the Colin McGregor Justice Building where he was charged with Drug Possession x2, Possession of a Weapon, Possession of Stolen Property x2 and Breach of Release Conditions.  He was held for a court appearance.

Fail to Remain

Police are investigating after a silver Jeep Cherokee was damaged while parked on Eagle Street near St. Catharines Street Wednesday afternoon around 4 pm.  The driver had stopped in at a convenience store on the corner and when he returned to his vehicle noticed the front drivers side panel had a large dent.  If you have any information about this incident or saw anything suspicious in the area please contact STPS at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS Refer to Case #ST21005352

Warrant

A twenty eight year old St. Thomas man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on Talbot Street after Officers on the Downtown Beat Patrol Unit recognized him as being wanted on a bench warrant. The warrant was issued after the man failed to attend his scheduled court date to answer to a charge of Break and Enter from an incident back in December 2020.  The man was taken into custody without incident and later released on an Appearance Notice for court.

Found Property

Warrant

Forty five year old Lucas Heffren of St. Thomas was arrested Wednesday night after he turned himself in at the Colin McGregor Justice Building.  A bench warrant for his arrest had been issued after he failed to attend his scheduled court date to answer to charges of Mischief to Property Under $5000 from an incident back in the winter.  He was taken into custody without incident for processing and later released on an Undertaking with court date.
