Sixty year old Michael Riley BURLEIGH of St. Thomas was arrested yesterday morning around 10:30 am on Talbot Street. Officers spotted Burleigh riding his bike downtown and took him into custody. Burleigh was wanted by St. Thomas Police on a warrant for one count of Assault. The warrant stems from an incident back in November of 2018 where Burleigh is alleged to have slapped a woman after arguing with her. The two were staying at a homeless shelter at the time of the incident. Burleigh was later released on a Promise to Appear.
Forty year old Kerri Sue-Ann WEBBER of St. Thomas was arrested yesterday morning around 10:30 am on Talbot Street after Officers spotted her on the sidewalk while dealing with an unrelated matter. Webber was wanted on a bench warrant for failing to appear for her court date. The original charges stem from an incident back in December 2018 where Webber was charged with five counts Theft Under $5000 and five counts Breach of Release Conditions. Webber was transported to the Elgin County Court House for an appearance.
Thirty eight year old Allen SLAUENWHITE was arrested yesterday afternoon around 1:30 pm on Elgin Street. Slauenwhite was wanted on a bench warrant for failing to attend court. Slaunewhite was originally charged with one count of Fraud Under $5000 after trying to cash a bogus cheque back in October of 2018. Sauenwhite was taken into custody without incident and later released on a Promise to Appear in Court.
A twelve year old wanted for one count of assault attended the Colin McGregor Justice Building yesterday afternoon around 4 pm with a parent to turn themselves in. The youth is alleged to have attacked another eleven year old on Wednesday night at the Joe Thornton Community Centre. The two were a part of a group of youths that were loitering in the lobby of the arena when the disturbance occurred. No injuries were reported and the youth was released back into the custody of their parent on a Promise to Appear in Youth Court.

St. Thomas Police were called to the Joe Thornton Community Centre last night after a fifty year old St. Thomas woman reported being assaulted by the coach of the visiting team. When Officers arrived on scene they discovered that the woman had approached the visitor bench to express her displeasure with the coach. The coach asked the woman to leave and when she refused he attempted to close the bench gate. The woman tried to stop the coach from closing the gate with her foot and ended up being squeezed in the incident. The woman waited for officers to arrive in the lobby after being instructed to leave by the referee. No charges were laid. Alcohol was a factor.
A twenty five year old St. Thomas man was arrested in the early morning hours around 1:30 am after Officers stopped to investigate a suspicious vehicle stopped in Athletic Park. Police spoke to two male occupants in the car and discovered the passenger was currently at large in the community on two separate release orders both with curfew conditions to be within his residence from 11 pm to 6 am. The man was taken into custody without incident and charged two counts Breach of Release Conditions. He was held at the Colin McGregor Justice Building for a court appearance.Back ...
