POLICE AUCTIONS

The St. Thomas Police Service regularly seizes or recovers property for which the lawful owner cannot be determined or the items are unclaimed. Previously, this merchandise was sold off through scheduled auctions held locally.

PROPERTY INQUIRIES (Bicycles, Lost, Stolen, Recovered Property)

Special Constable Lisa Johnson, the Property Officer for the St. Thomas Police Service, is available at Police Headquarters - 30 St. Catharine Street, St. Thomas - for property inquiries each weekday - Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. If you are unable to attend the station during these hours, please contact Special Constable Johnson at 519-631-1224 extension 287 to make alternative arrangements.

REQUEST FOR PAID DUTY

“The St. Thomas Police Service will arrange for officers to perform Extra Paid Duties that have been approved by “Designated Officers”. Police Officer duties at these events are to be consistent with the police function, that being, the prevention of a breach of the peace and enforcement of the laws. Members will conduct themselves in accordance with the policies and procedures of the St. Thomas Police Service.

COURT SERVICES

The members of our court office meet the mandatory demands on the Police Service to provide court security for all courts held in the City of St.Thomas including Provincial Courts in the Justice Building at 30 St.Catharine Street, and District Courts held at the Court House on Wellington Street.

The primary court officer/case manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the court office. She acts as the facilitator between the Crown Attorney’s office and the police service responding to requests for information for each court case.
